Cover Yourself In Mud!: A LEGO Predator

FILED IN Entertainment No Comments

legator-1.jpg

This is a Predator (NOT Terminator) bust made entirely out of LEGO pieces by numba one stunna skilled builder Shawn Snyder. I…never would have guessed you could have made such an accurate Predator face out of LEGO. I f***in’ love those eyebrows. Mine? Not so much. I shaved a couple notches out of them when I was high thinking I could pull of a Vanilla Ice, then sobered up and cried in a cold shower for two hours until I turned blue. It’s kind of a thing I do. A sexual one.

Save Yourself Hundreds Of Dollars And Opt For Yamaha’s TENORI-ON App Instead

FILED IN gadgets No Comments

TNR-i (Images courtesy Yamaha)
By Andrew Liszewski

Last time I checked, Yamaha’s TENORI-ON digital sequencer was selling on their site for $699. A far cry from the device’s original $1,000+ price tag, but still way too expensive for the musically un-inclined like myself. So if you’ve already got an iPhone or an iPad, you can save yourself $679.01 and pick up Yamaha’s new TNR-i app for just $19.99. It’s a software-only version of their TENORI-ON that recreates the instrument’s 16×16 grid of glowing buttons on your touchscreen device.

And while it might not be as full-featured as the original version, TNR-i is still capable of playing back up to 16 different sounds at the same time, on up to 16 different layers. The various performance modes also appear to still be here, including using it like a standard multi-track sequencer with sounds arranged and played back horizontally, and pitch affected by their vertical location. But taking advantage of the iPhone and iPad’s online capabilities, TNR-i also one-ups the original version by letting up to 4 people connect and perform together at the same time, even if they’re not in the same location.

Because It’s Friday (And You Hate Yourself): 8-Bit Version Of That Girl’s ‘Friday’ Song

FILED IN Entertainment No Comments

8-bit-friday.jpg

This is an 8-bit version of that girl’s annoying ‘Friday’ song. I say “that girl’s” because I can’t bring myself to say her name without projectile vomiting. Rebecca BLU-BLU-BLAAAAAAAAAAAAAHH!!! See? Granola bars hurt on the way back up. Admittedly, this 8-bit version is kinda catchy without the words. *getting stoned to death*

Do It Yourself: Geeky Homemade Lamp

FILED IN Entertainment No Comments

geek-lamp-1.jpg

This is a homemade lamp designed by Anonymity Blaze by replacing an old floor lamp’s panels with ones that’ve been stenciled/sketched with a bunch of pictures of geeky-ass thangs. COULD’VE USED A DINO I’M JUST SAYIN’.

So, today’s crafty post. I had this floor lamp that I loved very much, but some of the panels had been damaged over the years, so I decided to cut all the panels out, replace the ones that were too badly ripped and salvage the ones that weren’t. Maybe I’d add some small embellishments, I thought. Then it turned into an epic stencil project that took up all my crafts-for-me time throughout January and February.

There’s several more pictures after the jump showing it from all sides, but you’ll need to peep her blog for some real nice closeups. Geez, way to make my lamp look like trash. “GW, that’s not a lamp, that’s a bare lightbulb dangling from a coat hanger.” Haha, you like that, do you? You should see my bedside one! “That’s your bedside lamp? It looks like a box of tissues in a wastebasket.” *produces lighter from pocket* Hold up — let me turn it on.
