Lazer Tag Gets An iDevice Upgrade

They sure as hell didn’t have cool toys like this when I was a kid. We had to play laser tag wearing body suits almost half as heavy as we were and pay through the nose for the privilege. Kids of today will get to enjoy a better, iDevice enhanced version of the game. Hasbro will be releasing the Lazer Tag Blaster gun (1 player) and Lazer Tag 2 Blaster set (2 players) that feature an iPhone slot at the top. With the related application launched, players will have an HUD giving them an augmented reality view of the game. In one player mode, you can shoot virtual enemies while in two or more player mode (up to 24 simultaneous players supported), you can keep track of ammo, score and the location of your enemies. You can even shoot them from as far away as 250ft. “A virtual leaderboard keeps track of each player’s profile and, with every successful mission, players will gain in-game access to upgradeable attacks, missions and gear.”

The summer’s just around the corner and the Lazer Tag Blaster guns should be available August 1st for $40 for the single gun or $70 for 2.

Subglacial Antarctic Lake Undisturbed For 20-Million Years Finally Gets Drilled By The Russians

Lake Vostok, the pristine lake hidden under two and a half miles of Antarctic glacier for almost 20-million years, has finally been reached by the drill of Russian scientists. They hope to develop a better understanding of the earth 20-million years ago, but will probably only develop a strange disease from whatever the hell’s down there and then we’ll have to nuke the continent to save humanity. What? I’m a glass half-empty kinda guy!

‘If it goes well, a breakthrough opens up a whole new chapter in our understanding of our planet and possibly moons in our solar system and planets far beyond.

‘If it doesn’t go well, it casts a pall over the whole effort to explore this wet underside of Antarctica.’

AHAHAHAHHAHA, “and if it doesn’t go well we wasted a lot of time and effort and didn’t get anything from it”. Or did they? Are you thinking what I’m thinking? “Pump the water up, bottle it, and sell it to rich people?” Even better! SAY we did all that, but then just sell them my dirty bath water. “My God, you’re a genius!” Thanks, I’ve been wearing my thinking cap overtime lately. “Those are women’s underwear.” THEY WORK WONDERS.

White Galaxy Nexus Gets An Official Launch Date

It’s hard not to love the Galaxy Nexus, even if you’re not a Fandroid. With a 4.65-inch 720p display, a 1.2GHz dual-core processor and Android 4.0 ICS to boot, what’s not to love?

Well, if you’re being picky, perhaps you’re yearning for a white GalNex, in which case I have good and bad news. Which do you want first?

The good news is that the white Galaxy Nexus is indeed an official product and it will be available on February 13, which gives you a whole day to use a combination of Google Wallet and Fab to find your sweetheart a nice Valentine’s Day gift.

The bad news is that, according to TrustedReviews, the white GalNex is only available to the UK this week. (Bad news for us, anyways.)

Wait, there’s one extra bonus bit of good news: If you have enough dough, the white GalNex is has a pentaband HSPA+ radio, meaning it will work on both AT&T and T-Mobile’s networks. And by “enough dough”, I specifically mean at least £496.79 ($770), which is what the 16GB model seems to be going for over at UK online retailer Handtec.

Past it’s pale appearance, all the specs will remain the same between the black and white models. However, if you happen to remember when we first noticed the white Galaxy Nexus, you’ll recall that the render within the post showed an all-white bezel. That isn’t the case with the official version, as the front bezel of the phone is still solid black and the back portion of the phone is white.
