Bubble Wrap Backed Ties – Another Office Distraction

FILED IN gadgets No Comments

By Andrew Liszewski

You’d think the internet and smartphones would be enough of a distraction for the modern cubicle jockey, but successfully killing 9-to-5 every day is almost a career in and of itself. So today we bring you yet another mindless distraction that should occupy your mind for at least a couple of minutes. This set of black ties are backed with bubble wrap, and if I have to explain why that’s a good thing then you’ve clearly missed out on some important life experiences. Namely popping bubble wrap. Sadly though the ties aren’t actually available for sale, and since they appear to be dated back to 2008, there obviously hasn’t been much demand to make them a reality.

Bubble Tents: Because Everybody Should Make Love Under The Stars With Bears And Forest Gnomes Watching At Least Once

FILED IN Entertainment No Comments

bubble-tent-1.jpg

Bubble tents: for admiring the great outdoors without actually having to be out of doors. Hey, that reminds me of something. Oh right — WINDOWS.

Launched this year, the structures can be now be hired out at sites across France for around £400 pounds (~$635) a night.

Once the ‘bubble’ is inflated, it’s kept in shape with an airlock at the entrance and a silent pump, which keeps a constant pressure on the surrounding ‘walls’.

Outside sound is kept to a minimum while inside noise is magnified, which, according to Mr Dumas, encourages the occupants to create a peaceful atmosphere by whispering.

Mr Dumas added: ‘For me, Bubble huts are a place apart where you can rest, breathe or just stand back.’

‘Having a night under the stars or seeing the sun rise and set is not something that many people experience anymore.

Listen, as a guy who’s exposed himself to woodland creatures more times than he’d like to admit (200+), I’m down with the bubble tent. I don’t care who — or what — is watching me undress, because, ultimately, it’s gonna be their (vision) loss. No lie, one time I caught the lady across the street watching me undress and her eyes popped out their sockets and she got a bloody nose. And that was just from catching a glimpse of my pirate booty. Thank God I didn’t release the Kraken!

Hit the jump for a couple more shots of the exhibitionism. View full post on Geekologie – Gadgets, Gizmos, and Awesome

Motorola Charm pic and specs bubble to the surface

FILED IN gadgets No Comments

Motorola Charm
News on the latest Android device from the kings of capslock, the Motorola Charm, has started floating around the internet.

Clocking in at a pretty-hot-a-year-ago 600MHz, with a better-than-my-current-Android-phone 512MB of RAM and ROM, the Charm’s specs confirm that it will form part of T-Mobile’s lower-end handset line-up.

I gotta say, it’s pretty great that lower-end phones have specs like this. Only a year ago, specs like these were tip-top-of-the-line. *Gazes at his HTC Hero. Sighs*

It runs Android 2.1 with the newer version of MOTOBLUR that has the resizeable widgets. Oh, and that’s a 2.8″ QVGA screen you can see there.

No news on dates or prices, but the source said the pricing will be “attractive”. We’ll let you know more as information surfaces.

Press Play On Tape – Bubble Bobble

FILED IN music videos No Comments

The performance below of Bubble Bobble music brings alot of nostalgia.

Press Play on Tape are a band from Copenhagen, and theyre on a mission: to revive the Commodore 64. Their live performances consist of covers of game music, using various instruments, but usually with a bit of a rock twist. Those Scandinavians love a bit o metal, after all.
