Spiders Escaping Flood Blanket Town In Webs

FILED IN Entertainment No Comments

spider-webs-1.jpg

Spiders: I don’t mind them. Unless — UNLESS — they’re trying to crawl in my mouth at night, in which case I’ll wait till they’re right inside THEN BITE THEIR F***ING EYEBALLS OUT. The Australian town of Wagga Wagga was recently covered in spider webs as the arachnids relocated to escape rising waters and met little resistance after the town’s 9,000 residents in the flood zone were evacuated (presumable to Wocka Wocka). Oh man, what I’d give to drive a ride-on lawnmower through those fields. Hell, I’d mow them for nothing but a nice, cold glass of lemonade after. “Settle for urine?” Throw in a lemon wedge and you’ve got yourself a deal!

Hit the jump for several more shots including the spiders TRYING TO CATCH A DOG. View full post on Geekologie – Gadgets, Gizmos, and Awesome

FLEXiT Light Is A Tiny Blanket Of LEDs

FLEXiT Light (Images courtesy Biss Product Development)
By Andrew Liszewski

In addition to proving my theory that the letter ‘i’ will never be capitalized in a product name again (thank you Apple) the FLEXiT Light, which comes from the same people responsible for the Striker Magnetic Light Mine, is like a little magic carpet of LEDs that can be bent, folded or wrapped into any shape you need. The flat body is made from flexible silicone embedded with 16 Lumen Tech LEDs and what I assume is an inner wire frame allowing it to hold its shape once positioned for hands-free operation. It’s powered by 3xAA batteries which are housed in its ABS base, which also includes a loop for hanging and a pair of neodymium magnets for sticking it to metal surfaces. Available starting November 17 from the Striker Store for $29.99

Han Solo Frozen In Cabonite Blanket

FILED IN gadgets No Comments

By Chris Scott Barr

When it comes to decorative Star Wars wall pieces, I think that having a Han Solo frozen in carbonite would be the pretty much the coolest thing money can buy. Unfortunately it would take a lot of money to buy a proper replica, money most of us don’t have. Thankfully we can make do with simpler things, such as this blanket from LucasFilm.

The Han Solo Frozen in Carbonite Woven Throw is pretty much exactly what you’d expect. It’s a 52×68-inch soft cotton blend blanket depicting Han Solo as he hung on the wall in Jabba’s Palace. Yes, it’s a little short to be an exact replica, but it’s still perfect for hanging on your wall. (Because we know that’s exactly what you want to do with it.) $60 will get you one of these when they are released sometime this August.
