A story about one of the most popular man in the world’s history of 20-th century.
Popularly known as the Tank Man, or the Unknown Rebel, this anonymous man became famous when he pictures of him standing down a column of tanks with just his shopping bag. In April 1998, the United States magazine TIME included the “Unknown Rebel” in its 100 most influential people of the 20th century. It is easily one of the most famous pictures in the world.
Pablo Picasso created ‘Bull’ around the Christmas of 1945. ‘Bull’ is a suite of eleven lithographs that have become a master class in how to develop an artwork from the academic to the abstract. In this series of images, all pulled from a single stone, Picasso visually dissects the image of a bull to discover its essential presence through a progressive analysis of its form.
20/20’s investigation by John Stossel entitled “Stupid in America” highlighting some of the flaws with the education system in the United States. The story started out when identical tests were given to high school students in New Jersey and in Belgium. The Belgian kids cleaned the American kids’ clocks. The Belgian kids called the American students “stupid”, which gave the piece its name. Jay Greene, author of “Education Myths,” points out that “If money were the solution, the problem would already be solved. We’ve doubled per pupil spending, adjusting for inflation, over the last 30 years, and yet schools aren’t better.”
