Japanese farmer sold a Black-rind watermelon for up to 300,000 Yen ($3800 USD)

Japanese love Suicas (Watermelons) and apparently their love for this delicious fruits! Indeed, the Mainichi Daily News in Japan reported that a Black-rind watermelon from an Hokkaido farmer fetched a winning bid price of 300,000 Yen, around $3800 USD… Impressive when you know that Watermelons are already extremely expensive in Japan and are sold at around 5,000 Yen each ($61 USD).
