(Updated: Not For T-Mobile) Rumor Alert: T-Mobile’s Next Android Sidekick To Be Produced By Sharp?

Update: As we suspected this device is actually not for T-Mobile as the folks over at Unwired View just updated the article to reflect it’s not a Sidekick and not coming to T-Mobile.

The folks over at Unwired View have received what they believe is a picture of the next Android powered Sidekick to hit T-Mobile sometime later this year. We aren’t quite sure what “reasoning” they are using to determine this other than form factor but we have no reason to doubt their source. Their source states this phone comes with a 3.2″ HVGA touchscreen display, GSM/WCDMA compatibility, wifi, gps and a camera on the  back! Sounds like a phone from 2008. All kidding aside the form factor certainly looks Sidekick-ish but we’re going to chalk this one up firmly in the “take with a grain of salt” category until we know more.

My first experience with a sidekick was when my daughter wanted one for her birthday and we bought a used one. Let’s just say it didn’t last very long.

I so called this back when the rumored new side kick was coming….It was going to be garbage, and shortly after T-mobile was going to slap something else on it and re-release it…..Still garbage…..

Sounds good on wax, but unless it swivels, I don’t think it will do hacksungs sidekick numbers.

If it was like 2011 technology level ready it would be a win. Idk why they keep making very little upgrades to the Sidekick. Make a low-end-mid-end like one for that market & a high-end one for the rest. Like they did the Sidekick iD, then the Slide’s & LX’s. Come on now……… Just my personal opinion. I would’ve loved to get the Sidekick 4G, but compared to what’s out especially the G2x, it just didn’t compare.

I had the Sharp TM150 from a few years back, and I swear the picture quality on that thing was still better than any phone I’ve had to date.  This includes a couple other flip phones, the G1, and now the MT3G.  Sharp should make more phones, that TM150 took plenty of lickings and kept on ticking.

I think they new to stick with that metallic piece around the keyboard, keep the screen size to 3.5 (nothing less), better cameras(all tho i could care less about the camera) and dual core the phone and they have winner:) and one thing i love about this new design is that all the buttons for back, home, settings and search are on just one side! didn’t like the button on each corner thing to much, even tho i still love it!! :D

    Yeah, it’s a Sidekick with a G2-like keyboard. Not!

A rep at the T-Mobile store told me awhile back that T-Mobile owns the swivel screen trademark. Not sure how true that is though.

I had the SK LX 09 which was made Sharp, and it was very sturdy and solid. Although Android isn’t my first choice, but if they correct this rumored Sidekick by Sharp with a 5-row keyboard, at least a 3.5inch screen, and a better camera on back and front with all the Sidekick 4G features… then I might get one.
