(Updated: It’s Official With Press Release) T-Mobile Hosts “All Smartphones Free” Sale February 11th And 12th

Update: “T-Mobile is sharing the love this Valentine’s Day with an amazing offer:  for two days only, on February 11 and February 12, all phones are FREE. This includes our latest smartphones, like the T-Mobile myTouch 4G, T-Mobile G2 with Google, HTC HD7, and Samsung Vibrant. This offer is available in T-Mobile Retail, T-Mobile Premium Retailer, and participating Retail Partner locations only while supplies last, for new customers, upgrades, and add-a-lines with a 2-year contract.”

T-Mobile is preparing to host an “All Smartphones Free” sale coming up this weekend, February 11th through the 12th. Comparable to the Father’s Day Sale they held last year, we’ve received the above and below screen show showing the free smartphones will be available on “qualifying plans on new 2-year contracts.”

The question that will undoubtedly be on the minds of the existing customer is whether or not this will pertain to them? That’s a question we can’t answer but given T-Mobile’s newfound stamina to ramp up business, we can understand a focus on bringing in new traffic. As soon as we get more details we’ll post them right away!

So EM+ non contracts are screwed again? I understand I signed up [or rather, didn't] for this but damn it still hurts. My TP2 is dying and I’m not able to dump $600 on a worthwhile upgrade.

Well my T-Mobile guy was wrong. I’m going to have to bust his chops (figuratively) on Friday when I return the phone and re-buy to get the free deal.

As much as normally avoid contracts when you are getting a deal like this you are most likely better off going on contract to get the phone.

I’m guessing that this offer is only good if you have unlimited data, when we tried to take advantage of the BOGO at the end of November we could not because we were signing my wife up for the $15 / 200MB data plan, even thought the web site didn’t say anything about requiring the $30 / unlimited data plan they said they required it and produced a printout of what looked like internal documentation showing that only the $30 / unlimited plan qualified for the BOGO.

Fine print…’only one phone per account’! damn so it’s either me or my wife who gets a free phone!

Yeah, these people who always cry, ‘tied down to tmo or having a contract’…do they even have a tmo plan or account? Do they pay month-to-month..and they really pay full retail for the phone or buy from the bay or craigs’ place? If you’ve been using tmo line for a long time you might as well jump in and get a plan. Sheeeesh..some people.
