[Updated] T-Mobile Ending Sidekicks Sales July 2nd, Says To Expect Something Better Soon

Update: While we’ve been guessing this for a while now, mocoNews is also reporting a rumor that T-Mobile will resurrect the Sidekick as an Android device. As the Sidekick line remains an iconic part of the T-Mobile brand it seems fitting to introduce an Android based Sidekick incorporating the best of both worlds, mainly the Android OS and the Sidekick form factor. Stay tuned!

Today, T-Mobile announced that it will be discontinuing its Sidekick handset line. Magenta states that as it looks to “further innovate and raise the bar for the next iteration of the T-Mobile Sidekick”, beginning tomorrow July 2nd, the Sidekick LX and Sidekick 2008 will no longer be available through T-Mobile retail stores, Customer Care, telesales, or online. Additionally, Magenta promises that it will be putting a twist on things by replacing the lineup with a “new and fresh experience” sometime in the coming months. This shouldn’t come as no surprise, as we’ve been expecting a replacement for awhile now.

I love how Microsoft took over danger and basically KILLED everything they took on and failed without the Sidekick Moniker lol.

Make room down that Emerald road for the HTC Vision and Sidekick twist for fall, two super charged phones heading to T-Mobile this year. Sounds fine to me. = )

So is project emerald the HTC sidekick twist that was rumored back a few months ago for a summer release? or is the HTC Vision categorized as the sidekick and gonna be released before the holiday? Or is tmobile gonna release both phones this yr?

    Dale it’s ironic that u say David doesn’t need a co-sign, but by saying that u r co-signing him.

Dude you can literally kiss the inside of my asshole. You’re probably Johny just using a different screen name. Whatever the case, piss off.

    * I know this sounds too good from Sprint, but it’s because of some Microsoft benefit thing.

Ok so I have been waiting for t-mobile to release something and I REALLY hope this is something worthwhile. I went to the Sprint store and they said they would pay my early fee, give everyone in my family an evo and the rates for the plan would stay the same. Tempting. If this is like a mytouch slide twist edition I think i’ll just switch. Have been a loyal customer for seven years but after the Wing and Touch Pro II, I think I deserve to buy something usefull with my heard earned money.
