[Updated] T-Mobile Ending Sidekick Sales July 2nd, Says To Expect Something Better Soon

Update: While we’ve been guessing this for a while now, mocoNews is also reporting a rumor that T-Mobile will resurrect the Sidekick as an Android device. As the Sidekick line remains an iconic part of the T-Mobile brand it seems fitting to introduce an Android based Sidekick incorporating the best of both worlds, mainly the Android OS and the Sidekick form factor. Stay tuned!

Today, T-Mobile announced that it will be discontinuing its Sidekick handset line. Magenta states that as it looks to “further innovate and raise the bar for the next iteration of the T-Mobile Sidekick”, beginning tomorrow July 2nd, the Sidekick LX and Sidekick 2008 will no longer be available through T-Mobile retail stores, Customer Care, telesales, or online. Additionally, Magenta promises that it will be putting a twist on things by replacing the lineup with a “new and fresh experience” sometime in the coming months. This shouldn’t come as no surprise, as we’ve been expecting a replacement for awhile now.

OS is gonna be Android 3.0 with a user customizable interface

Dual core and 1ghz standard here we come! hopefully at least this is what the line up is talking about or it might be Windows Mobile 7!

But… I am pretty sure it will be Dual Core Android 3.0 goodness.

Honestly I will be content with either OS but I will be extremely happy with android 3.0

I’m thinking HTC vision is going to be the start of the lineup.
